MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.05 Title: Greek Butter Cookies Categories: Cookie, Dessert Yield: 48 Cookies 1 lb Unsalted butter 1 lg Egg 1 ts Vanilla extract 2 ts Baking powder 4 ts Confectioners' sugar 1/2 c Walnuts; finely chopped -(optional) 3 1/2 c All-purpose flour 1 c Confectioners' sugar for -dusting Total time: 1 hour Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Using an electric mixer, beat butter until creamy. Add egg, vanilla, baking powder, 4 ts sugar, and walnuts. Add half the flour, and mix well. Turn dough onto a board or counter. Knead in the remaining flour until the mixture is smooth and no longer sticky. Divide dough into quarters, and roll one-quarter into a log about an inch in diameter. Cut diagonally into 1-1/2" pieces. Put the pieces on a lightly greased cookie sheet 1-1/2" inches apart. Repeat with the remaining dough. Bake cookies 25-30 minutes, or until the bottoms are lightly brown. Cool, and then dust generously with confectioners' sugar.
