                          SPANISH RICE AND BEEF

   1       lb           Ground beef
   2       tb           Vegetable oil
   1       c            Uncooked regular long grain
   1       md           Onion -- chopped
   2 1/2   c            Water
   1 1/2   ts           Salt
     3/4   ts           Chili powder
     1/8   ts           Garlic powder
   1       sm           Green bell pepper -- chopped
   8       oz           Tomato sauce

  Recipe by: Pasta, Rice & beans Cook ground beef in 10"
  skillet, stirring occasionally, until brown; drain and
  remove from skillet. Heat oil in same skillet over
  med. heat. Cook rice and onion in oil, stirring
  frequently, until rice is golden brown and onion is
  tender. Stir in beef and remaining ingredients. Heat
  to boiling; reduce heat. Cover and simmer about 30
  minutes, stirring occasionally, until rice is tender.
