* Exported from MasterCook * Barbecued Chicken Recipe By : Taste of Home Serving Size : 12 Preparation Time :1:30 Categories : Chicken Freezer Meals Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 2 whole chickens -- cut up SEASONING MIX 3 tablespoons salt 2 tablespoons onion powder 1 tablespoon paprika 2 teaspoons garlic powder 1 1/2 teaspoons chili powder 1 1/2 teaspoons pepper 1/4 teaspoon ground turmeric 1 pinch ground red pepper SAUCE 2 cups ketchup 3 tablespoons brown sugar 2 tablespoons minced onion -- dried kind.. 2 tablespoons frozen orange juice concentrate -- thawed 1 tablespoon seasoning 1/2 teaspoon liquid smoke Pat chicken pieces dry so seasoning coats well; set aside. Combine seasoning mix ingredients; sprinkle generously over both sides of the chicken. Reserve 1 tablespoon mix for sauce and store leftovers in a covered container. Grill chicken, skin side down, uncovered, over medium coals for 20 minutes. Turn; grill 20 to 30 minutes more or until chicken is tender and no longer pink. Meanwhile, combine all sauce ingredients in a small bowl. During the last 10 minutes of grilling, brush chicken often with sauce.
