* Exported from MasterCook * Sweet-And-Sour Tongue Recipe By : Freeze With Ease copyright 1965 Serving Size : 4 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Beef Freezer Meals Make Your Own TV Dinners Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 4 cups tongue 1/2 cup brown sugar 1 tablespoon cornstarch 1 cup tongue broth or beef stock 1/2 teaspoon whole cloves 1/2 bay leaf 1 cup sour cherries (frozen or canned) -- drained 1 tablespoon lemon juice 2 tablespoons butter or margarine Cut tongue into julienne strips. Place in baking dish. Mix together brown sugar and cornstarch. Combine with tongue broth or beef stock. Add cloves and bay le af. Cook, stirring, until thick. Add cherries, lemon juice and butter. Bring to a boil. Pour over tongue and bake in 350 oven for 20 minutes. Freeze. To serve: Defrost and reheat in double boiler. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
