* Exported from MasterCook * Spiced Cheese Of Turkey (Weir) Recipe By : Gvreme, Cappadocia, Turkey by Joanne Weir* Serving Size : 8 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Appetizers Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1 1/4 cups unflavored yogurt 1/4 teaspoon salt 10 ounces feta cheese 2 garlic cloves -- minced 1/2 teaspoon cayenne OR 3/4-teaspoon cayenne 1 teaspoon sweet paprika 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil -- plus 1 teaspoon extra virgin olive oil freshly ground black pepper cured black olives -- for garnish Place the yogurt in a paper towel-lined sieve and let drain for 4 hours. Combine the drained yogurt, 1/4 teaspoon salt and the feta in a bowl; mash to a smooth paste with a fork. Add the garlic, cayenne, paprika, 1 tablespoon olive oil and black pepper; mix well. Alternatively, this may be prepared in a food processor. Spread the puree on a serving plate. Drizzle with the remaining teaspoon olive oil; garnish with olives. Serves 8. Serve with a hearty country-style bread.
