MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06 Title: Tomato Juice Spaghetti Sauce Categories: Sauces Yield: 12 Servings 2 tb Olive oil 1 lg Onion; chopped 6 cl Garlic; chopped 1/2 ts Ground allspice 1 pn Ground cloves 1/4 ts Cayenne pepper; or to taste 1 1/2 oz White wine 92 oz Tomato juice; (2 cans) 18 oz Tomato paste; (3 cans) 1 tb White sugar 1 ts Dried oregano Salt and pepper; to taste Preparation time: 30 minutes Cook time: 2 hours Total time: 2 hours 30 minutes This is a sauce my cousin's mother-in-law made. I had it for the first time 5-1/2 years ago and haven't made anything else since. Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat. Saute onions and garlic until lightly browned. Season with allspice, cloves and cayenne. Stir in wine, and cook until liquid is reduced. Add tomato juice, tomato paste and sugar. Season with oregano, salt and pepper; bring to a boil.
