MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06 Title: Quick Chili Categories: Camping, Chili Yield: 4 Servings 1 cn Kidney beans 1 cn Tomato paste 1 cn Garbanzo beans 1 c Dry rice; (white or brown) 1 c Onions; sliced; (canned or -fresh) 1 tb Chili powder 1 ts Cumin 1 ts Black pepper 1 ts Garlic 3 1/2 c Water If you are touring in a remote area, there might be days when you will have no choice but to buy food at a small general store that has a very limited supply of staples and canned foods. [In other words, you may have to cross a food desert.] But, alas, think positively, and remember the hiker's and cyclist's creed: Anything tastes good when you're really hungry! So control your craving for fresh vegetables, fruits, cheese, granola, and tofu (there is always tomorrow) and fix yourself a total desperation dinner. Saute onions in butter.
