* Exported from MasterCook * Chili Recipe By : Susan McKinnon Serving Size : 1 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Beef & Veal Chili Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 3 tb Butter or salad oil 1 lg Onion -- chopped 1/2 c Celery -- chopped 1 Green pepper -- chopped 1 lb Ground beef -- or more to taste 6 oz Tomato paste 1 lg Can tomatoes 1 sm Can tomatoes 1 ts Salt 2 ts Sugar 3 Cloves 4 tb Chili powder 1 can Kidney beans -- up to 2 cans Combine butter in skillet or sauce pan. Add the onion, celery, green peppers, and ground beef, saute until meat is brown but not crusty, drain. Stir frequently separating meat with a fork. Add the tomatoes, tomato paste, salt, sugar, cloves, and chili powder, blend well. Cover. Over high heat until the mixture steams, then reduce heat to simmer and cook 45 minutes.
