---------- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.05 Title: Grandma's Molasses Taffy Categories: Candies Yield: 5 Pounds 3 c Light molasses 3 lb Sugar 1/2 c Vinegar 2 c Water 1/2 lb Butter 3/4 ts Baking soda; sifted 2 ts Vanilla Combine molasses, sugar, vinegar, and water in a large, heavy pan, boil to hard-ball stage. Add butter, boil to hard ball stage or 260°F on a candy thermometer. Remove from heat, add baking soda, small amount at a time, stirring constantly. Add vanilla, stir. Pour onto buttered marble top or large platter. Cool until mixture can be handled. Pull until golden. Cut into bite-sized pieces. Wrap. Recipe by June James (GNDR31B) -----
