Here are my responses to Gef's 5 Questions for March, 2024.

       1. What is your favorite soup? Whether you make it from scratch or
not. Feel free to explain the process.

My favorite soup is a traditional green split pea soup. I make it
from scratch in a crock pot. It's even better rewarmed a day or 2
later after sitting in the refrigerator. I like to have cornbread
or biscuits, and steamed greens on the side. Here's a link to the
recipe i normally use, plus a link to alternatives. Usually, i'll
"doctor it up" with sauteed onions, 1 ts of curry powder, etc...

       2. The collapse is near! You only have weeks to download everything
you need to survive without internet, what would you download
          first and why?

I would download nothing, because i have already downloaded what i
need from the Internet. If i got online, i would communicate with
loved ones to make contingency plans, agree on dates and locations
       to meet up, etc.

Also, with the collapse near, i cannot count on keeping technology
in working order. I think it would be a mistake to rely on ebooks
for critical information like first aid, maps, etc. Peeking under
the glamor, i see technology as quite fragile, and the maintenance
       requirements are intense.

       3. What is a dream that you remember most in your life, could be a
          nightmare or a beautiful dream.

I have a recurring dream of all living beings in song together. I
hear an all-encompassing nature, with acceptance, encouragement, &
love. I imagine it is the infinite unity from which i came and to
       which WE are all going.

       4. As the rain replace the snow here, what are you most excited about
          spring?

Recently i experienced a significant loss in mobility. Normally I
WOULD have been excited to go hiking in the wilderness. This year
i am excited to go to ASL class and to help start a drum circle.

       5. The surface web is getting over-taken by AI and marketing, yet
there are very nice hidden gem online what is the most interesting
website that you go back to?

I find myself most frequently visiting the Internet Archive plus I
use Mastodon. The Internet Archive is vast, so it helps to have a
direction or interest. I see a need for curators to highlight the
gems they find along the way. It's too easy to see the forest but
       miss the trees. ;)
