2024-04-03 - Spring

Ok, as time is passing by quickly, it is already starting to become 
spring again. At work i am now working on some IT related things, 
and they gave me access to a ChatGPT (4.0) account. 

Fun stuff to play with, and quite useful to have as some sort of 
weird interactive help for IT/programming related tasks. It's like 
having a dialogue conversation with Google. And it is ideal for 
feeling incredibly lazy about stuff.

"Hey i want to style a button using CSS framework XYZ (and i can't 
bother to read the manual), what is a suitable class to use?"

Or 

"Hey i want to fetch every first occurence of this string after a 
certain tag, out of a html file. Make me a regex plz, because i 
cannot be bothered with learning Regexes... Because, who can 
really..."


Quite helpful. However, the killer feature is having silly dialogs 
about creating totally stupid images.

"I want an image of a fantasy fight, between knights and wizards, 
but the knights are potatoes, and the wizards are German tourists 
on bycicles. Go on make something!"


And after it created something, you can say things like: "Yeah but 
the Germans have to look more Oktober-fest like." etcetera...

Now with ChatGPT/DallE you can create text and images in this 
dialog fashion. At the same time, OpenAI's Sora is coming, and Suno 
is there for creating music.

I bet very soon Suno derivatives will be there for creating an 
endless stream of generated (uncopyrighted) music.

You'd say: "Hey i have an italian restaurant. So generate me a 
constant stream of Italian restaurant background music"

And it would do that. And if it's too lively. You'd say...
"Please make it a bit more slow and relaxed"...


In five years, we'd be watching things on the new "Netflix" in a 
similar fashion; Instead of watching a premade cartoon, stuff is 
generated specially for you on the fly;

"Hey i want to watch a cartoon show on the adventures of penguins 
stranded on a tropical island".

And while this generated cartoon is playing you would say: "Make it 
more funny", or "Make it more like a detective". And the cartoon's 
story line would move towards that.


Everything will be bland and boring, but it will be made bland and 
boring especially for you. So then its ok :)
