* COCONUT CRAFT
** CONTENT
The coconut  is the  kiing of tropical  flora, the  tree of
abundance and is also known as the tree of life

In the science world, its name is "Coco nucifera" and it is
the most important of cultivated  palms and the most widely
distributed of all palms

Coconut trees will mature and  begin to yield fruit after 5
years, Once the  tree starts to fllower, it  will take 7-12
months for the coconuts to fully mature.

A fully-grown coconut in  its husk will weigh approximately
6 pounds

The coconut tree's inflorescence  is a juice called coconut
toddy or  tuba, Coco tubby  contains inositol which  can be
used in treating cancer patients

*** VARITIES
1. Tall 
   Tall varaties livve up to 90 years, they can grown above
   sea level, and is resistant  to insects and pests, by 10
   years of age, it will  start making coconuts, the leaves
   color vary from green, yellow, orange,
   
2. Dwarf
   This  is small,  and only  lives up  to 50  years, by  3
   years, they  will start  producing nuts except  they are
   susceptible to drought
   
3. Hybrid
  
   These coconut  trees grow quickly, and  these things are
   produced mainly, which is why its called a hybrid in the
   first place

There are 4  islands that makes coconuts,  but mainly luzon
is  the one  thats  making the  coconut  materials to  make
handicrafts 

The  philippines  is  the  pioneer  in  the  production  of
coconut-based handicraft items, its also the world's second
largest producer of coconut products, after Indonesia

one-third of the total population in the Philippines
