March 30th, afternoon Monday, Monday. It's actually a fairly nice day here; sunny and warm enough to have the windows open for the first time this year, though there's a cool, damp breeze. The news is of course full of dreadfulness, but by not venturing outside of the house, it's easy to forget the whole panedmic thing. Of course, that's impossible, because the whole reason I'm not venturing outside is, well... the pandemic. But, still. From what I can tell, "outside" looks about the same as I remember, just slightly warmer and a lot emptier. Didn't do a lot over the weekend of note. Played some video games, chatted online with a friend or two, watched a streaming movie with a couple of friends, and read a couple of books. I wrote back on the 16th that I'd placed an Amazon Pantry order that was estimated to show up in about two weeks' time. It was scheduled to show up last Friday, in fact, the 27th. One or two items showed up randomly throughout the week, but the bulk of the stuff is now estimated to show up... this Wednesday. We'll see if it happens. That being said, what did show up, especially the trail mix and chocolate, is helping to keep our moods up, which is what it was supposed to do. But if we'd been relying or really planning on the rest of that order showing up in any reasonable, or indeed predictable, amount of time, I'd be a little miffed. We should have another Amazon Fresh order arriving tomorrow, knock on wood. Our last one was on the 23rd, so this will be just over a week later. Assuming we can keep that schedule up, I don't think we'll have any problems, basically... indefinitely. Which is good, because I'm starting to suspect our original isolate-for-four-weeks plan might become... eight. Or more. The big benefit to Fresh (or Prime Now) is that I'm able to get flour delivered, and thus make bread. That, in turn, is letting us reduce our daily intake of other starches, like beans and rice, and make our supply of those stretch longer. Anyway, that's it from me, for today. Stay strong, stay safe. I'll update when I can.
