# Simple-Web.org memorial service

The plain web site simple-web.org used to host several
projects that attempted to return to the user of the internet
a sliver of their dignity - by creating opensource front-ends
to popular proprietary services with the emphasis on privacy
and javascript-less usage.

The site has been down for several months now, but the projects
still exist and should be a part of any gophernaut's bug out kit.

The projects can be run by yourself, or you can use one of many 
instances that host the projects for you. Since the links to
the various instances on the codeberg project page are directed
to the simple-web.org website (which doesn't work), here is a 
list of instances that I have archived and tested at the time of
writing this article.

Please note that I have not tested any of the onion, I2P and Lokinet
instances and only provide the archived list. Projects that had no
known (to me) working instance are not listed.

## Addendum
Following is a list of services not developed by the simple-web project,
but that was listed on its website. The first link leads to the official
instance and src to the projects homepage. These projects do not necessarily
follow the simple-web philosophy (no tracking, no javascript), but often
