I run Mageia v8 and that is a variant of RH.

Install all the required libraries and packages as normal using your package
manager then build.

As I can boot into different versions especcialy when testing a new Mag 
version
I have installed it in /home/mbse and not the default /opt/mbse by using in
../configure --prefix=/home/mbse but other wise no issues what so ever.

The needed package names may WILL be different from Debian though.

Don't forget to read the manual for details on extra functionality from usage
of Apache, FTP servers etc.
