Xorg running vesa or trident drivers has wavy lines at the
bottom of the iOpener screen. These settings appear to get
rid of the problem (though, they also get rid of accel, so
there may be a better way...)

in xorg.conf (may have to create it, Section Device, add:

Driver "trident"
Option "NoAccel" "True"
Option "CyberShadow" "False"
