Replies to Cat and Leveck (zaibatsu), 04/16/2019 ------------------------------------------------------------ Among other interesting things, user cat recently said[1]: "I'm feeling somewhat alienated by the Gopher and PUBNIX communities, through no fault of theirs. It's just been predominately tech-talk in those circles lately and I just find it hard to care about any of that. Again, no fault of the people in these communities and I participate in them knowing full well what the they're about, I just have generally my fill of what distro or software you're running/what language you're learning/what software you're submitting pull requests to/etc pretty quickly and have to step away." I can agree with that; when phlogs get to be too much of any one thing, it gets old quick. Having segmented my phlogs a while back, I worry sometimes that each one is harping on a few subjects just a little too much. Cat, your comments were well-worded and thoughtful, thanks for sharing them. I'm sorry about the stress you're feeling as well, with all that is going on in life. Whatever you want to give and take from gopherspace, you're more than welcome here, at least by me. User leveck at RPoD recently entered my brain and enumerated several of my thought processes in a post, without giving me any credit[2]! Seriously though, this: "Lately I find myself exceptionally in disagreement with almost every part of _popular_ culture." and this: "I hate the left, but I also hate Trump." and this: "anything that intuitively smacks of this fake world I find myself in." and especially this: "Everything feels unnatural, the world is upside down. I find myself waiting for the inevitable massive system failure. I no longer care about losing everything I have worked a lifetime for. A global stone-age reset seems the best option this Earth has." There is more, but you should go read it in his post. [1] gopher://baud.baby:70/0/phlog/fs20190414.txt [2] gopher://1436.ninja:70/0/Phlog/20190414.post
