People are Terrible ------------------- *Or, Pandemic Pandemonium* I feel like writing a bit about the pandemic that America is currently facing. It's a bit weird, because we're actually not at home. I had a work trip to Utah this last week. My brother-in-law lives up in Montana, so we decided to just make it a family trip and drive up afterward. There was a little bit of COVID-19 kerfuffle while we were up in Utah but nothing terrible. But this last week there have been pretty huge changes - states closing down their school systems, travel bans, etc. But the worst thing in my mind is that people are making a run on TP, rice, and beans. These are pretty much staples in our house, but with 7 people we consume a pretty decent amount of it. So the fact that people are starting to hoard it, especially when they probably never actually eat it, is really frustrating for me. > People are dumb, panicky animals, and you know it. - K, Men in Black This is what I feel is currently going on. We're currently just hanging out in a hotel, so we've got TP, and when we get home, we also do... but people have gone *bonkers* for no good reason. Wash your hands and keep good hygiene and you should be fine. It's a bit like the bank issues in the past - when you take your money out of a bank, that actually causes *huge* issues. Banks need to have cash on hand to keep things stable. But if people panic and try to take all their money out of the bank, banks collapse. That's why we had bank holidays created in the past - give people a day or two to calm the heck down and stop panicking. I feel like we need a TP holiday or something - people need to calm the heck down and stop creating panic. It's going to be super interesting on the drive home - will things be better, or worse? I don't know, but I'll find out in a couple of days. ~wangofett
