Factotum and Me =============== I am reading now the book Factotum by Charles Bukoswki. The book is about Henry Chinaski who moves from one state to another looking there for jobs in the days of World War II. I started that book a day after I finished Desperation by Stephen King. In both books you can find the USA of work-places unfair to the blue-collared employees, with jobs endangering people's lives. And if you don't want to risk your life for the job, many unemployed people will be glad to replace you; to be more precise, they will stand in lines to replace you. He reminds me of myself back in the days I worked for a hi-tech company, walking out to the street in the middle of a work-day to go to a convenience store and buy there a bottle of cold beer. A good reason for Henry Chinasky to work is his family. A family is dificult if you don't have a job even if you are a bachelor. The parents won't just accept you. In particular, if you have a psycho dad like Henry's. And, screw it! I do not like the question "don't you want to have a job?". Even, that question is a good reason to work. I even prefer his life style to mine. I will really like to quit having a steady living address, and find myself a room each time I find that the time has come.
