They Paved Paradise =================== I watched some days ago a short clip about the strangler fig, a cool tree that gives shadow and reduces the emission of greenhouse gases. It is deemed a nuisance these days because it attracts yellow jackets and bats that make the place dirty. The tree's roots lift cement and cobble stones. Because of that clip, I recalled the line "They paved paradis, and put up a parking lot" from Joni Mitchell's song "Big Yellow Taxi". Following is a link to that song: https://soundcloud.com/emma-pinches/big-yellow-taxi-joni-mitchell So, some people poison those trees to kill them. Business owner think they are better of without trees. Sidewalks, roads and parking lots are more important these days. People ruin nature to make their business places more attractive. Now they complain about what nature provides us with. They paved paradise; now you can go to a tree museum to see the trees and complain about them when they are in the city.
