I finished reading The Cactus Eaters - How I Lost My Mind And Found
Myself by Dan White yesterday. It is about hiking the Pacific Crest
Trail from US-Mexico Border to Cnada. A challenging and scenic trail.
In the book, Dan mentioned the following two lines from The Happy
Wanderer:

    Valderi valdera
    Valderi valdera ha ha ha ha ha
    Valderi valdera
    My knapsack on my back

It sounded familiar, and reminded me that I even know the melody.
I heard the song once on Dame Edna.
Now, I cannot walk long distnces let alone hiking along a trail
some miles away of civilization.
I sometimes go down the street, and hear the song playing in my
head. I can't help singing it as I walk.
