By: DarienJ Date: July 1, 2024, 4:13 pm --------------------------------------------------------- Must have been alright if Jack gave his approval [emoji7] I'm glad the weather was nice for them, if chilly. It's always colder when there is no cloud cover, unless you find a sheltered spot in the sun and out of any wind. Winter seems colder this year, but not too sure if that is age or an actual fact. I just did a very quick search and 'they' are saying it's not any colder than usual, so it must be our age. Robert and I are feeling the cold more. #Post#: 46436-------------------------------------------------- Re: The end of the washing machine .. By: Moira Date: July 2, 2024, 3:58 am --------------------------------------------------------- I agree the WINTER does get colder as we age believe me !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I try to blame the area .... after Perth it was cold in Helensville.... but every year in Winter it IS colder no matter where we live !!!!!! IT has been pouring down on and off all day today ! The ground off the deck here is full of mud ... John said he will have to get some gravel to make a pathway ! I Think he said that last year too !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I picked up the kids from school today and coming back down here via Dan's house through the paddock .... the car kept skidding in the wet muddy grass ! Jack thought it was hilarious and wanted me to go faster !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! #Post#: 46444-------------------------------------------------- Re: The end of the washing machine .. By: DarienJ Date: July 2, 2024, 4:13 pm --------------------------------------------------------- I have the heating on a lot more than I ever used to, most mornings and evenings now. It's another wet and windy day here, the wind makes it feel colder too, even if you are inside. At least everything is nice and green here at the moment. A gravel pathway is an excellent idea and I hope he does it, that will also prevent a lot of mud and dirt being tracked into your house!! Such a boy thing to say, to "Go faster Grammy" just so the car would spin [emoji23] Did you go faster? #Post#: 46451-------------------------------------------------- Re: The end of the washing machine .. By: Moira Date: July 3, 2024, 3:40 am --------------------------------------------------------- Same, same John puts the heating on in the morning when he gets up ..... before me :))))))))))))))))) I put it off if I go shopping or also maybe in the middle of the day if the sun shines but it goes back on in the evening as it gets cold again ! It was also wet .. showers and windy here today too ! Never went anywhere except to pick up Greta from school as Jack was here all day feeling sick.....so no school and Cash went home with a rugby team mate as they had rugby practice around 4pm ! Greta is not allowed to walk to Mum' s shop by herself after school :) Fairy nuff so I picked her up :) Straight onto MY computer as Jack had been on it all day !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! #Post#: 46452-------------------------------------------------- Re: The end of the washing machine .. By: Moira Date: July 3, 2024, 3:42 am --------------------------------------------------------- PS NO I did not go faster driving in the muddy paddock but I still skidded / slipped sideways in all the mud ! #Post#: 46459-------------------------------------------------- Re: The end of the washing machine .. By: DarienJ Date: July 3, 2024, 4:15 pm --------------------------------------------------------- I haven't been anywhere all week, but I have my appointment with Steven Cala, my lung specialist this morning at 9.20am and he is about 30 mins away, so I will leave here early [emoji30] What was wrong with Jack? I hope he isn't coming down with anything, there is a lot going around here at the moment. Deb,Ed and Alex have Influenza A and are all quite ill with it, it has really knocked them about. Covid is around again too. Typical winter illnesses. I would hate all that mud around, it's bad enough with my lawns being so slushy with all the rain we have had. #Post#: 46466-------------------------------------------------- Re: The end of the washing machine .. By: Moira Date: July 4, 2024, 4:50 am --------------------------------------------------------- Well Jack was off school again today but he felt much better !!!!!!!!!!!!! He raided my cupboard and was on MY computer all day from 10am until I got Greta and Cash from school at 3:10pm and Greta was here.... ' MY TURN ' on the computer ! I do wonder about Jack as he does want to go to school tomorrow and he does want to play rugby on Saturday ...................he did eat noodles and crisps here today and drink some cocoa and tea ! I did also ask if any other kids in school were off sick and he said, ' NOT as far as I know ' ! I have not heard of any ... sickness around here !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Long may it last. Good luck with your specialist appt. today ... it will be long over by now [emoji170] I Never even got on MY computer this morning at all and ate my toast at the table reading yesterday's newspaper ! !!! MUD .... I paddle in it in order to get to my car ! NOT That I have been anywhere today except to pick up Cash and Greta ! #Post#: 46473-------------------------------------------------- Re: The end of the washing machine .. By: DarienJ Date: July 4, 2024, 4:36 pm --------------------------------------------------------- Jack does seem to miss a lot of school and if he can sit at the computer all day and eat etc he should be at school in my book. I wouldn't allow him to play Rugby on Saturday if he is sick, just to see what he chooses to do with it and I bet he will suddenly be well enough to go to school!!!!! All went really well with my appointment, my lungs have cleared of the inflammation and the lesion I had has almost gone, it's minuscule. I have a small pocket of atelectasis in my lower right lung, caused by my COPD. It just means small areas of the lung have collapsed, but I wouldn't notice it. My COPD and Bronchiectasis is stable. I don't see him again now until January next year [emoji4] #Post#: 46480-------------------------------------------------- Re: The end of the washing machine .. By: Moira Date: July 5, 2024, 3:46 am --------------------------------------------------------- WOW that is great news for you then (((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((Darien))))))))))))))))))))))))))) )))))))))))) Long may it last :) Jack DID go to school today and I too think he maybe just wanted time off.....! Rugby is miles away tomorrow and I am not going as the weather is supposed to be COLD too ! They got their school reports today and all have been doing well .... especially Jack :) Excellent reports :) #Post#: 46487-------------------------------------------------- Re: The end of the washing machine .. By: DarienJ Date: July 5, 2024, 4:21 pm --------------------------------------------------------- Funnily enough, I learnt on Thursday that I only have very small pockets of emphysema, most of my COPD is caused by scarring of the many infections, asthma attacks etc that I have had over the years. I don't blame you for not going to Rugby if it's miles away and cold, better off staying in your warm bed. Congratulations to Jack, Cash and Greta on their excellent reports, they must take after their Grammy [emoji7] ***************************************************** (DIR) Previous Page (DIR) Next Page
