By: DarienJ Date: June 26, 2024, 5:03 pm --------------------------------------------------------- White walls can certainly brighten a place up, but it is best used in a larger place than yours. It would be too much better if you had darker walls as it makes your place look bigger, believe it or not. Not having little ones touch everything in my house, I don't have to clean the walls often at all anymore. I did have a very small walk in pantry when we lived in Sydney, it was very narrow and ended in a point, like a V shape. It was very dark and cramped though. If I had a larger kitchen here I would have put one in here when we redid the kitchen, but there was no room, sadly. I finished redoing my pantry yesterday, I hope this way works better. It's an odd shape with a fair bit of wasted space where it goes into a deep corner, and those spaces are harder to use, so I try to put the thing we use the most to the front on part and the the less used items in the corner part. #Post#: 46370-------------------------------------------------- Re: The end of the washing machine .. By: Moira Date: June 27, 2024, 3:50 am --------------------------------------------------------- I decided on White walls because they make the place look BIGGER .... in my mind anyway ! Naturally, white is an obvious choice for making a room feel bigger. It's no secret that light colours make a room look larger, especially if the space is bathed in natural light. I find I don't store as much food stuff as we did in a bigger house ! :) But my smaller pantry is quite full up :) #Post#: 46379-------------------------------------------------- Re: The end of the washing machine .. By: DarienJ Date: June 27, 2024, 4:16 pm --------------------------------------------------------- I think it depends on where you look as I found this; Dark colors can make a small room look larger, but so can light colors. Pinks, blues, greens and grays are all good choices for small rooms, but so are off-whites. Think about wrapping the whole space in color for a dramatic, saturated effect. And avoid the feature wall.28 Feb 2023 I guess we are both right as I chose a grey for my living room and it has made it look bigger and brighter. I too get a lot of natural light in there and I believe that is what makes the main difference [emoji4] It doesn't take much to fill a pantry really. #Post#: 46386-------------------------------------------------- Re: The end of the washing machine .. By: Moira Date: June 28, 2024, 3:19 am --------------------------------------------------------- Hmmmm well to each their own :) My pantry is still quite full................. no kids here seeking food !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:) #Post#: 46392-------------------------------------------------- Re: The end of the washing machine .. By: DarienJ Date: June 28, 2024, 4:58 pm --------------------------------------------------------- I am sure your fridge and pantry are full if the kids aren't there [emoji4] Used to be the same at my place when the grandkids were small, the full pantry and fridge would only last until the next visit [emoji1] #Post#: 46398-------------------------------------------------- Re: The end of the washing machine ..
