OH MY, you did get rid of his shoes and boots. Glad those days
are over and John is a different person, what a blessing for all
       of you!

Are Johns jackets on the floor of the wardrobe?? The bottom of
the wardrobe is only used for storing shoes in my house.
Sometimes Robert leaves his slip ons in the lounge room and I
got so cranky at hime he no longer does it [emoji6]

John's Jackets are all hanging up in his wardrobe ...... plus
his dressing gown ! Hence his little wardrobe space is full. He
has a box on the floor of the wardrobe and I chuck some of his
shoes in there. Plus other bits and pieces he leaves laying
       around !!!!!!!!!!
I washed and dried 2 pair of his jeans the other day and finally
got them dry .... and went to hang them in the wardrobe NO
SPACE so I folded them and just managed to cram them in his
jeans drawer along with his other 10 pairs !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
       Collecto ???????????????????
The shelf at the top of his wardrobe has lots of his papers and
pills and stuff PLUS belts and any other bits ! THERE Is
absolutely NO need for all his stuff !

We all have way more "stuff" than we need these days. In old
houses, like Pam's, the closets were so small as people didn't
have so many things. Pam has two bedrooms with the tiny closets
but somewhere along the line people had regular, new bigger
closets built so that is good.
Our old house in Oelwein had small closets but somehow we made
do BUT that was a long time ago. I haven't lived in that house
       for 59 years.
I'm sure I had fewer clothes then too.

Is your built ins small then Moira? Are they much smaller than
       mine?
It is true that we never had built ins growing up, only small
stand alone wardrobes, but it used to be enough back then. That
is certainly not the case these days.

The wardrobes .. one at each corner are 6.5 feet high and just
over 2 ft wide :) With 2 shelves at the top inside :) I did it
in feet and inches so Linda could understand :))))))))))))))))
They look similar to yours Darien !
Yes we always had those stand alone wardrobes all made of fancy
       wood :)

How long are they? They should fit all your things in really as
you say you don't have a lot of clothes.

Long enough to hang any thing but I just hang trousers, a
dressing gown and a couple of tops and 2 jackets . That is all I
have to hang, the rest all go in drawers or on the shelf above
!!! Actualeh everything I have could go in a drawer except for
       the jackets.

We hang so much more than we put in drawers but we have a lot of
       closets so we can.

My goodness, you really don't have a lot of clothes, or more to
the point, I have way too many and it's time to cull!!!!! I hang
my gown on a hook behind my bedroom door, takes up less space in
       the wardrobe then.
I meant the length of the whole wardrobe, just not where you
actually hang things, I didn't make that very clear, sorry.
