No you were probably prescribed a different form of antibiotics
as you didn't have to be on them long term. I did know of long
term antibiotics, as people who lose their spleen have to be on
them for the rest of their lives and for many other medical
issues, as in the case of our very own star,

I think I was on them for quite a while in hospital and when I
got out but I did not like them so I stopped taking them once
they ran out.... I did not renew the prescription !
Remind my failing memory........... did you have your spleen out
or was it Linda ??????????????

I have mine and as far as I know, so does Linda, I was merely
using losing a spleen as an example of why one would be on ab's
for the rest of their lives. Linda is on them for a different
reason, her eyes.

I could be wrong but it seems like newer ab's are used for
sicknesses these days and Doxycycline for a long term thing but
I'm by no means sure of that.

Oh I See .. I did have a problem with my spleen once in Perth
............or maybe it was JOHN !!! Pass !
I don't like Abs and they do not agree with me so I do not take
them unless it is absobloodylutely needed !

The only AB's I can't take are Augmenton Forte, I ended up in
A&E when I was on them as I couldn't stop vomiting. They gave me
an anti nausea injection, told me not to take them again and
gave me another type of AB. As you know I am on so many
different medications and when I have tried to stop taking them,
with a Drs supervision, I always found I needed to go back on
them. My last attempt was Lyrica, I tried to wean off them and
perhaps even stay on a lower dose. That didn't work as my nerve
pain came back in earnest and there I was thinking they were
doing nothing!!!!!!!

Help Darien, I don't know how you can keep up with all the meds
! FORTE means STRONG so the Augmenton Forte were strong Abs then
!
When I had Pancreatitis I had ABs via a tube in my arm when in
A&E and they made me feel sick so I told them to stop them !
Why do I know the name Lyrica ?

Antibiotics given intravenously usually doesn't make you feel
nauseous as it bypasses the digestive tract, but I guess it
depends on the person and what type it was and I assume they
would have been quite strong ones for Pancreatitis

We have mentioned Lyrica on here before, Linda also takes a low
dose for her Sciatica pain.

I did take Lyrica but weaned off of it and haven't had a dose in
years now. I remember Emma was 9 when I had Sciatica and she's
now 22 so it's been awhile. I gained 35 pounds while on it,
that I remember. I was hungry all the time.

Bloody hell another thing I think I Had once upon a time
.......... in PERTH again BUT I did have Private Health
Insurance and I think THEY made sure I would suffer from
SOMETHING ! Money making scheme ! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I WAS on
Lyrica for my FIRST hip pain I Am sure and I did stop it
suddenly and I had to go back on it then ween myself off it
slowly !
Bugger I WILL look up my medical records tomorrow !
