Not saws though. Got a PP330 and a husky 350. 1 to check over and 1 to go through a rebuild. #Post#: 53265-------------------------------------------------- Re: Whats on your bench today By: Chainsawrepair Date: January 25, 2015, 6:52 pm ---------------------------------------------------------
. Originally didn't have any fire because the moveable breaker plate was loose. Runs now.
I ran a really clean Wright C-70 at a couple of our GTG's. Very well built saw. Fun to run. Has a lever for adjusting the ignition timing. Two settings; "start" and "run". Kill switch is built into the throttle trigger. Can't remember exactly how that worked. IIRC, he had about a 28-30" bar. Ran it in about 32-26" Douglas Fir. Didn't bog down at all. Lots of torque, as you'd expect from a 116cc reed valve saw. #Post#: 55466-------------------------------------------------- Re: On the Chainsaw bench. I got it out so I can get it going to cut down on some of the tall grass around the wood piles and buildings. It has been real dry and we have seen quite a few grass fires already. So far found the starter solenoid. Interlock switch, battery, and the cable that engages the blades all bad. I dropped the deck and found the pulley for engaging the blades frozen. Right now I have everything fixed except to put the cable in and then put the deck back on. It runs great and drives good. #Post#: 56033-------------------------------------------------- Re: Whats on your bench today By: 660magnum Date: March 26, 2015, 11:04 am --------------------------------------------------------- I have a Craftsman (AYP) 2007 42" riding mower. I found that all the safety switch connectors have default contacts in them - if disconnected from the "so-called safety" switch will default electrically to shut the engine off. (Remember in a magneto stop circuit, to ground the magneto stops the spark) They can be defeated by thin plastic strips from a blister pack. When reading the schematic, the 12V and the ignition magneto stop circuits are intermixed on the same ladder diagram. The logic for the the magneto circuits are reversed from those of the 12v circuits. The mower has a 12V system and a starter and generator but the ignition is still a magneto system. Confusing if the situation is not recognized. The fuel shut off solenoid at the bottom of the float bowl can be defeated mechanically easy enough. The riding mower has many electrical systems to keep it from running on the ignition and starter circuits. Few to enable running. Seat switch, reverse gear selector switch, fuel cut-off solenoid, - the PTO switch, and drive clutch switches can prevent the starter from running. There is a cam operated brake mechanism on the deck spindles. Where the cam follower rides - quickly wears a notch in the cam. This locks the mechanical clutch mechanism "ON" and you can not shut off the deck. The cams can be replaced every couple years or you can remove and throw away the brake mechanism. ***************************************************** (DIR) Previous Page (DIR) Next Page
