Funny because it also said Partner on the air filter cover. But anyways the complaint was that it would not stay running at idle. Found one of the clutch springs missing so of course the clutch was always engaged bogging the engine down at idle until it would die. #Post#: 61727-------------------------------------------------- Re: Whats on your bench today By: Gatekeeper Date: September 19, 2015, 6:03 am --------------------------------------------------------- I've got a 385 for porting and a 372xpw for assembly. #Post#: 61745-------------------------------------------------- Re: Whats on your bench today By: Al Smith Date: September 19, 2015, 2:38 pm ---------------------------------------------------------
I I also had a old Promac 610 come in for repairs. It had 150 psi on the compression but the spark arrester was plugged up. It is like a mental check list that I go through when checking them out.
Plugged screens are a common problem on these things .What happens is sometimes the diaphragm impulse oilers get to leaking into the crankcase sucking bar oil .Just leave the screen out . #Post#: 61756-------------------------------------------------- Re: Whats on your bench today By: 3000 FPS Date: September 19, 2015, 7:35 pm --------------------------------------------------------- Thanks Al I did not know that about the oilers. #Post#: 61902-------------------------------------------------- Re: Whats on your bench today By: 3000 FPS Date: September 22, 2015, 8:35 pm --------------------------------------------------------- Worked on a couple of Husqvarna 455's. Both with oiler problems. The first one had a bad oiler but the second one had the worm gear all striped out. Not uncommon I have seen these problems before. I then took an old spark plug and knocked all the porcelain out of it including the electrode. I threaded a brass fitting into it and used some JBL to seal it up. This is for pressure testing crank cases. Should be ready for use tomorrow. Just trying to simplify some of the testing I do. #Post#: 62229-------------------------------------------------- Re: Whats on your bench today By: 3000 FPS Date: September 26, 2015, 11:23 pm --------------------------------------------------------- Well been working on this Stihl 019T. Unfortunately someone worked on it before me. Found the gaskets in the carb out of order and the metering lever bent super high. Put a new kit in the carb and got the saw running but the high will not adjust correctly. The low worked fine and would adjust with no problem. I am not messing with it any more and will just get another carb. I do not believe that there was one part of this saw that did not get screwed up. I do not like cleaning up someone else's mess. You have to yank the entire engine out of the case to replace the carb on these so getting a good carb is important. #Post#: 62245-------------------------------------------------- Re: Whats on your bench today By: dannyupsolate Date: September 27, 2015, 7:46 am --------------------------------------------------------- trying to stay calm it is weedeater day #Post#: 62250-------------------------------------------------- Re: Whats on your bench today By: 3000 FPS Date: September 27, 2015, 8:58 am ---------------------------------------------------------
trying to stay calm it is weedeater day
Almost all the ones I have worked on usually have a bad carb or fuel lines and filter. #Post#: 62251-------------------------------------------------- Re: Whats on your bench today By: Chainsawrepair Date: September 27, 2015, 9:04 am --------------------------------------------------------- Yep on weedeaters and fuel line routing sometimes can be fun. I do like the molded fuel lines some use though. Easiest to do it seems. Now that stihl 019 etc I try and avoid like the plague. Even the newer ones like them I avoid. 190 191 or 192 etc I think. #Post#: 62253-------------------------------------------------- Re: Whats on your bench today By: dannyupsolate Date: September 27, 2015, 9:12 am --------------------------------------------------------- yep looking up carb kit now. this one had blue fuel line still good it may shrink a little where it enters tank over time. probably best to be sure to use little plastic grommets with blue fuel line. not a problem with line that swells from gas exposure. ***************************************************** (DIR) Previous Page (DIR) Next Page
