No need to split the case to replace the crank seals.

Yep, pretty easy to do job. New seals and intake boot, fuel and
impulse line, opened up the muffler some and the old girl is
back in business for the first time in about 20 years

Does any one know if the HT-12 from an 088 is a direct swap for
the ht 7?

I was looking at the ipls of both saws and it looks like
everything should line up. Just wanted some other opinions.
