Dunno, but here goes my opinion:
dedicated ( useful if you dare to play with iptables ).

At least but not last: You have no obligation to user the Gopher, if it
does not fit your purposes ;)

<li>Think also of multimedia content or the old CD-ROM support: work =
like that but at a minimum.</li>
<li>The way it works from server to server (proxies ), is also unique.</li>
