I remember back when I was first married, I pulled the head off
of truck with a 390 and lapped in a new valve on the coffe table
while watching TV. I was living in an apartment at the time
       and no garage.

A 390 head wasn't so heavy but the cast iron intake manifold
       weighed 85 lbs.

my fun for the day is going to be welding up the frame on my
       wheelhorse tractor.
saul..... how did the rewound coil work out?
kev.... the bright side, (if you can call it bright), is that at
least you got it back home to futz with it. had (have) a
caravan that would not idle, took a computer reflash at the
dealer to finally fix it, after i went through every sensor on
       that p.o.s.
like the kitchen table mechanics! once lodged a valvespring
into the ceiling when a home-made spring compressor slipped off.
always have had bad experiences with springs, whether coil or
leaf. lots of energy in those things.
       regards
       -joe

In the winter I rebuild carbs on tv tray while watching sports
and staying warm. Also rebuilt many saws in winter on the
       kitchen table.
On the parts washer, cough cough I can only use it when the boss
is gone. Dishwasher. Same on the oven for crankcases. ;D ;D
